A New Story is Coming This August: The Boy in the Basement Woods
I’m so excited to finally share the news: my debut book, The Boy in the Basement Woods, will be released this August!
This story is deeply personal. It was born from a single poem I wrote late one night—a poem about fear, hope, and the quiet strength that children often carry in silence. From that poem grew a book that I pray will help kids (and the adults who love them) unpack the heavy feelings they sometimes don’t have words for.
As a father, Army veteran, and former residential counselor for children who have experienced trauma, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is when a child feels seen. That’s what this book is about—recognizing the hurt, but also shining a light on the healing that follows.
📖 What You Can Expect
- A heartfelt, emotionally honest story written for young readers and those who care for them.
- A message of hope and healing woven into every page.
- A special poem, “The Boy in the Basement Woods,” included in the book as the heartbeat behind the story.

This is more than a story. It’s a lifeline for anyone who’s ever needed to be reminded:
Even in the dark, morning light is coming.
